to THIS...
....in just over a month.
Maybe some of you remember that I did this run last year and really enjoyed it. It was mighty difficult for a novice runner like myself. I thought my lungs had collapsed and could feel my pulse beating in my temples for hours after, but once that stopped, I felt fantastic. My training regime then was pretty pitiful, I didn't even put on my runners a month leading up to the race, but I feel like this time I'm even further behind schedule. I just had a baby!! The most running I've done in last year has been from my small apartment living room to the nearby microwave in the kitchen when I thought the popcorn was going to burn. It's bad guys.
So the questions are now: When am I going to run? Where am I going to run? Is it going to be light enough outside or have lighting to keep me safe from the pervs? and How the heck am I going to find the energy to do it when I'm up every 2-3 hours in the night and can't nap during the day.
I think I'm going to have to be creative with this one. Maybe running on the spot in my living room....
I just got back from driving out a pretty good route. It's 2.5 miles starting and finishing at the bottom of our drive. The lighting is still going to be an issue... maybe we should test it out saturday while our husbands are home and see if we can make it to sheep pasture before we have to start walking, haha! At least then we'd have an idea how long it would take us to walk to whole race!
ReplyDeleteHow is 8:00 am Saturday mornings? That is when you should do your "long run" anyway. During the week only do a mile, max 2 miles, 2-3 times. You need rest in between your running days. You would be surprised at how quickly a mile goes. Did you want me to send you a schedule?
ReplyDeleteAt least you are starting out on a cute couch.
